Jack Barden was an avid five mile a day walker and had just returned from a week long skiing trip from the west coast, when he went into atrial fibrillation and had a stroke.
Jack was healthy and on no medications prior to his stroke. After leaving the hospital, he spent almost three months in a skilled nursing facility, but needed more aggressive therapy. His wife moved him to HealthSouth.
Jack’s physical therapy has graduated from inpatient and now he attends therapy five times a week using HealthSouth’s outpatient services. Jack hopes that one day he will be well enough to ski again. Jack’s wife comments that, “this is the very best place to recover from a stroke, and we love HealthSouth.”
