Patient Testimonial
Tony Parker

Tony Parker was in a coma for two months as a result of respiratory failure and a CMV virus that was in his brain. Tony was transferred to HealthSouth’s pulmonary rehab program after his bilateral lung transplant.
“I could not talk or walk when I arrived at HealthSouth” Tony says. He was at HealthSouth for three weeks and made an incredible recovery with the help of therapy, the pulmonary team and the medical team. Tony commented about his therapy at HealthSouth, “they really make you work hard, but it is all worth it.”
He was able to return home, and came back for outpatient. He still comes to HealthSouth’s breathing well club. The goal of the breathing well club is to keep patients active in an environment that will be supportive and continue their recovery. Tony comes weekly to keep up his strength and newly made friendships. Tony concludes about his experiences at HealthSouth, “the people make the place, it is outstanding!”
